As an average Aussie with both working but on low incomes I cannot see this incentive working for us we already pay high rental and just with everyday living exspenses we struggle to save and most weeks there is no savings we are not in debt(well we are buying a car) have no credit cards we do not live beyond our means. I think the goverment should make available low interest home loans for first home buyers this would be more benificial and allow them to borrow 100% this would see more people in a home of their own and the goverment get their money back as it is now the first home owners grant is eaten up with fee's and more, with all the traditional lenders the interest rate is forcing people out of their homes as it is you only have to look around and see how many people are selling their homes as they cant afford their repayments
just my thoughts
